Richardson, Texas (January 26, 2015) – Visual Action Software and The Hive Group today announce that they have completed the merger of the two companies, following approval by their boards of directors and shareholders. The combined company integrates industry-leading enterprise-strength treemap technology with strategic expertise in Big Data visualization.
This merger creates a leading technology company–positioned to help organizations who have invested heavily in Big Data initiatives, but have struggled to realize value from those investments.
The new company retains the name Visual Action Software, and is led by Jim Bartoo, who was previously CEO of The Hive Group. “Organizations are rushing to implement visualization solutions–hoping to unlock the potential of their significant Big Data investments. Unfortunately, the data discovery market is riddled with lightweight tools and visual gimmicks that are of little value in real-world settings. Visual Action brings operational relevance to the forefront, and, in an era of Big Data disillusionment, helps our customers realize the return they’re expecting through fully tested and widely deployed enterprise-strength visualization solutions,” commented Bartoo.
The Honeycomb® product offering is rebranded as the Flaremap Application Suite; and, consistent with the charter of the new company, integrates with Big Data platforms.
